In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned practices and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
