Joshua Reiterates on Controversial ‘Kill’ Comments Aimed at Jake Paul
Anthony Joshua repeated his controversial remarks about being prepared to “kill” Jake Paul during a media gathering in Miami on midweek.
The remarks were originally stated on Tuesday when Joshua was questioned if he would show restraint against Paul, replying that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.
Saturday's bout against the internet personality turned fighter has drawn criticism over safety concerns and the size difference between the two competitors.

Former titleholder The Gypsy King branded Joshua a “classless loser” for his extreme rhetoric.
But Joshua, defended his mindset: “This is what I do, we fight. We have a license that permits extreme violence.
“I understand many people don't comprehend it but this is what my job is. I love what I do. The outcome, happens - provided that my hand is held high, that's what's important, respectfully.”
He added, “That's just the mindset we have to have as warriors. I'm unsure if other boxers think that way. Maybe they're a bit more tame. The way my mind works. When you're in the squared circle, it's a risky thing. Anything can happen.”
“You hope your opponent leaves the ring safely, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed aware you just did your job. It was purely professional.”
Jake Paul's Fiery Retort
Paul, a huge outsider in the fight as a career lighter fighter, was equally incendiary in his response.
“This is a modern day combat sport,” he said. “I'm ready. I want his hardest punches. I want there to be no excuses when it's all over. We should kill each other.”
AJ will face Paul, in his twenties, at Florida's Kaseya Center in a fight many consider a glaring mismatch, with some arguing it should have been sanctioned as an non-professional fight.
The official fight will be contested over 8 three-minute rounds using standard 10oz padded gloves, with a stipulated maximum weight for the former champion.
Joshua Claims He Was “Brought In to Save” The Sport
Despite the vulgar language used, Joshua suggested he has been “brought in to save” boxing.
“They want me to put an end to the Jake Paul show and I understand it and that's why I have to carry the sport on my back in this bout,” he concluded.
The news conference also had more humorous exchanges, with Joshua laughing as Paul sang ‘London Bridge Is Falling Down’ to him.
The final staredown concluded peacefully, with the underdog striking a odd posture before the champion remained composed and playfully touched Paul's chain.
Paul & Joshua Deny Scripted Allegations
The unusual nature of this bout has led to rumors about its legitimacy, including suggestions that he may be prohibited from knocking Paul out.
“There's nothing in the contract, Joshua can confirm it. We're going to war,” Jake Paul insisted.
Joshua, wearing a valuable chain, jokingly added, “The only thing in the contract that got my attention was the money.”
He has stated on social media that the total purse will be extremely high.

He has not faced anyone of Joshua's pedigree but insisted that his opponent would not underestimate him.
