The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A charity drive is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”
Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.
“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Production History and Featured Artists
The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.
The notable list of musicians contributing to Lullaby features a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a significant sum for charitable causes.
Creation and Launch
Lullaby was crafted by a trio of music creators. The song showcases a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.
The group managing the project have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.
“We haven't set a specific target,” a figure said. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. It all goes out to Gaza.”
The context in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings described as destroyed or damaged.
“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”
The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
